OLLIE

“The team at Rescue, Train & Repeat have played an integral part in our experience as first-time dog owners and we couldn't have done it without them. Our training sessions with Andrew, as well as all his advice and guidance, have helped our pup Ollie flourish into a confident, secure, happy, well-behaved dog. We feel confident that we have been able to set Ollie up for success. In addition to all the experience, Andrew and Ken are simply wonderful people who are always a pleasure to be around.”

“I would 10/10 recommend working with Rescue Train Repeat! I recently rescued a two-year-old dog with a traumatic history and a fearful personality. Andrew’s unwavering support, training philosophy, and practical tools have helped me navigate this journey with patience and positivity - not to mention his deep love for animals is palpable, and he is a joy to spend an afternoon with! If you're thinking about bringing a rescue pup home and/or have a dog in need of training, Andrew and Ken at Rescue Train Repeat are your people!”

HEART

“Our lovable Jindo mix, Heart, was adopted from Korean K9 Rescue; an organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from the Korean meat trade. Heart came into our lives anxious, deaf, scared of the sights of New York City, and with resource guarding issues. It was difficult to be prepared for all of the challenges we were going to face as new dog parents, but as soon as we had our first consultation with Andrew of Rescue Train Repeat, our nerves were put at ease.

Andrew is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to helping a rescue adjust to a brand new lifestyle. Their confidence in their skills, Heart's ability to learn, and our ability to guide were what we needed to get us through our first few months of being a new family. Andrew was very adaptive to Heart's needs and taught us how to communicate with her through eye contact, gestures, and most importantly through leashes/collars while on our walks. Heart has been with us for over three months and we have already seen tremendous improvement with her behaviors, her confidence in walking, and how comfortable we are with each other.

We highly recommend Rescue Train Repeat for all of your dog training needs. Andrew and his partner, Ken, are such a delight to work with and a breath of fresh air. They are patient, understand dogs on a deep level, and are always available to answer questions. Heart is in love with Andrew and cannot stop wagging her tail when they are around.”

COCO

“Andrew and Ken recently hosted a day at Prospect Park that included a scavenger hunt, pack walk, and agility training. They hosted this event for the many pups and people they work with, and we attended with our pup, Coco. Coco had the time of his life exploring the park, socializing with other dogs, testing out the agility obstacle course, and building up his confidence. This event is a perfect example of how Andrew and Ken infuse their work with creativity and fun, with an approach that is grounded in building healthy and happy bonds between pups and owners and also developing a strong community. We adopted Coco in October of 2020 and have worked with Andrew over the last five months. From the beginning, Andrew's thoroughness and empathy stood out. Prior to picking up Coco for the first time, we talked to Andrew for around an hour and they prepared us for how to handle picking up Coco, introducing Coco to our home, and all the initial best practices. Their support and advice have been invaluable from the very beginning and following Andrew's advice helped Coco comfortably transition and securely bond with us. In our subsequent sessions, Andrew has done so much to educate us on proper leash technique, basic commands and obedience, and in particular, techniques to help build Coco's confidence. Coco adores Andrew and we all highly recommend Rescue Train Repeat!”

“We are so grateful to Andrew, Ken, and the RTR Pack. This is our first dog and I was anxious about being able to give him the best home possible. In swooped Andrew — not sure what I would’ve done without them! Andrew’s been essential to our dog’s successful adjustment and we’ve seen so much progress through our sessions. They are sensitive to our dog’s particular needs and also to the needs of us dog-parents! I know that continuing to work with RTR will continue to build our pup’s confidence and I’m looking forward to seeing how RTR’s training continues our growth together.”

CLARENCE

“Our experience working with Andrew and Ken was top notch. It was an experience we never knew we needed. Andrew taught us so many elements about bringing a pup into our family and he helped us build a strong foundation with our dog that has allowed Clarence to thrive. Andrew’s demonstrations, explanations, and homework assignments are never overwhelming and are designed to build the utmost confidence in not just the dog, but the owners as well! We had a lot of fun traveling the road with Andrew and we’ll forever be grateful.

And let’s not forget Ken! Talk about someone who communicates quickly and clearly. We didn’t have too many scheduling conflicts but when we did Ken was great at accommodating our schedules very fast. It was great to finally meet him at the monthly pack walk in our neighborhood!

Rescue Train Repeat is a service I would recommend to just about anyone thinking about adopting a dog. Especially if you’re a first-time dog owner, more goes into the beginning than you may think and Andrew and Ken are more than up to the task of preparing you and your new family addition for success!”

SPIKE

“We have an anxious rescue puppy so he’s always a bit nervous with strangers, but Ken & Andrew are both so incredible with him! Highly recommend them more for any training or boarding needs — we’ve relied on them so much and have always been so happy with how well they take care of our sweet dog. Will always come back to them!”

MARS

“I have a five-year-old jindo mix rescued by Animal Haven from an illegal meat farm. I've had him for four years, but he is still occasionally skittish and usually shy around strangers. Andrew has worked with Mars to gain confidence going outside at night time and not running away from his harness, and that's been fabulous. But the greatest service that Andrew and Ken have provided is the total comfort I feel when they're watching Mars at their home/facility during the times I have to be out of town without the dog. Under their care, I don't have to worry about Mars wriggling his way out of his harness or shaking in a corner. They are the only service that I trust to understand Mars' unique way of doing things, and I'm so grateful for the service and comfort they provide to my and other rescue dogs.”

“Andrew and Ken are amazing!

Rescue Train Repeat specializes in shy rescues but I would also amazing for puppies! They always advocate for what is best for the dog, and helping it succeed.

We first bought a puppy package when we got our 13 week old 3 pound chihuahua. We really wanted to make sure we didn't end up with a yappy chihuahua, and heard about Rescue Train Repeat through a friend. We also wanted a trainer who could help socialize our pup since its difficult to find play dates her size.

Andrew was always very considerate of our time when working with us. Since puppies cant really learn very quick or do much training for long periods, he really spend time educating us on impulse control and little things to build up our dogs concentration and teaching her things we could use in the future.

Everything was very doable and if there was any doubt or question, he would do phone calls to check up and request videos of you working with your dog to make sure we are doing things correctly.

Andrew is also great at catering the training to the dog and making sure we give the dog the best chance to succeed. He was super gentle with our chihuahua, yet teaching us to be firm. But I believe most of the dogs he works with are medium to large. He has lots of activities to help build pups confidence.

Our pup is now 1 year old and she is wonderful and so smart! So is a little bratty sometimes but that really is our fault since we give into things. She becomes a different dog when she is with him and really loves any group session and pack walks.

We currently are working on our second pup who is definitely more stubborn and a handful, but I know that working Rescue Train Repeat, he will be great once he are an adult!”

EMILY

“Rescue Train Repeat has been such a gift in our lives for 2 years. Andrew and Ken are loving, patient, knowledgeable, and excellent trainers. We adopted our dog, Volvo, from Korean K9 Rescue and were assigned Andrew at RTR as our trainer. Andrew helped us navigate caring for and establishing a relationship with our very shut down and anxious sweet boy. Andrew was there to answer any questions we had about how to be new dog parents to a dog with a complicated past. Andrew helped us learn the best ways to train Volvo who was so shut down he was not driven by food, prey, ANYTHING lol. With Andrew’s guidance Volvo has grown SO MUCH! Through group training with “helper dogs”, Andrew helps to socialize Volvo with other dogs in a safe and understanding environment. Volvo is still a bit uneasy around dogs that are overly friendly, but has come MILES! He will curiously sniff stranger dogs and let them investigate him without any apprehension or snarls and has even made dog friends. Our journey with Volvo has been deeply rewarding and RTR has helped him grown and flourish. They are also just lovely, fun people. We love Andrew and Ken!”
